Fossicking now allowed in the Cells State Conservation Area!

NAPFA are pleased to announce to members that the Cells State Conservation Area (SCA) located within the Cottan-Bimbang national Pak now has fossicking approval. Please read the notification and NAPFA stresses that all prospectors must do the right thing!​

Hill End Historic Site Plan

National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is seeking feedback on the draft plan of management for the Hill End Historic Site.


The review was last held in 2012, so it is critical for fossickers who use the area to have input. NAPFA have submitted to the past plan and contributed a lot of lobbying since 2013 on a range of issues. Please read the document and register for a letter you can use to make a submission:

Tambaroora Access

Recently NAPFA has been requested by members to clarify the situation at Tambaroora for access and permit to Fossick in Tambaroora.

NAPFA has contacted both the Chair of the Tambaroora Common Trust and Crown Lands in Orange and can confirm the following:

Fossicking now allowed in the Nuggetty State Conservation Area! 

NAPFA are pleased to announce to members that the Nuggetty State Conservation Area (SCA) now has fossicking approval. Please read the notification and note the number of submissions requesting fossicking which is a big help to get this approval.

This submission states the case to enable recreational fossicking in these National Park managed lands.

This link takes you to the recently released compliance document from the NSW Government that targets 'illegal' fossicking.  

NAPFA warns members to be aware of this program.  

NAPFA does not agree that highbanking should be an illegal activity and has been lobbying the department for the past two years for sensible compromises on this issue.
